Don't Stop Believing

Don’t Stop Believing in Kids and Their Teachers!

The 5th grade kids choir and their choir teacher from school PS-22 in Staten Island New York show the world that we don’t need to stop believing in the future of our children.

The Oscar bound choir will perform Over the Rainbow in front of one billion viewers this weekend at Hollywood’s Oscar Awards. The 64 kids come mostly from underprivileged neighborhoods. Their teacher, Gregg Breinberg, affectionately known as “Mr. B” has transformed learning by way of emotion and feeling through song.

These kids and their teacher are the real Oscar winners! They also serve to teach us all that every child has unlimited potential if we can find a way to reach them and let them bring it out. Learning must become fun. School often becomes drudgery for kids by age 10. We must find more ways to give teachers and our kids freedom to innovate and ‘get outside the box’ to make learning come alive.

Whether in song, science, math, sports or service; our kids can be the very best if we don’t give up and stop believing in them and make innovative education a top priority in our world.

Enjoy the show and don’t stop believing; because somewhere over the rainbow is a life of gold for us all! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u5vrtZKvxWM&feature=related
